Rock Climbing, A Physical And Mental Sport
Rock climbing is definitely a physical and mental sport. The first time I did it was when I was 13 at a team building training course in the outskirts of Budapest. That day we had to learn to face our fears, mine of which were heights. It probably took me twenty minutes to climb ten feet up. Oh, but it was so worth it! I have gone again and again ever since, constantly trying to find my new limit. One day as I was climbing I realized that so much of what I was doing was in the mind, such as the fear; I was only imagining falling, I hadn’t seen anyone fall and I was certainly not falling myself.I found some more information here. So I set my mind on the goal ahead. I wanted to reach the top of the cliff and in a sense ring the victory bell. Now that I have mostly overcome the fear of heights I enjoy continuing rock climbing to remind me of what a person can do when they set their mind to it. Rock climbing however, doesnt only take mental strength, but physical strength as well. I enjoy it because it is a great way to work out just about every muscle in the body. I saw a transformation in my arm, leg and stomach muscles fairly soon after beginning more regular climbing and now enjoy it also as a way to keep fit in the midst of my many hours sitting at the computer for work. I definitely recommend rock climbing to any of my friends, no matter their level of strength or whether they have a fear of heights or not. If I can do it and learn to love it, I have high hopes for anyone else to. See you at the cliffs!
