It saddens me that the Meadow is in here. Perhaps I'm being selfish. Last time I visited, the good were not slathered in chalk, with every rugosity filled to the point of turning jugs into Summerville/Butchers glass.

Does the the need for a new guidebook or more guidebook sales outweighs any access concerns, any opposition, even that of the first ascentionists.

Hopefully, the Meadow will not now turn into Butchers, Bubba City, or Summersville. Of course, I guess someone could have gridbolted it years ago. Maybe climbers can control themselves. Maybe the regulars can control the bolt count. Maybe someone had better get to work establishing the easy routes as R- and X-rated trad routes.

Or maybe I'm being selfish.

Scott, I agree with you regarding the Meadow.

It's been a great few seasons climbing there, and it will probably change forever now. You'll recall our friendship started there at the Third Buttress.

I just hope that access isn't affected.
